Seuss person but I hated this book. Boring story, stupid words that didn’t entertain and even though it was meant for a child rather than me, my son hardly ever looked at it growing up, so its sits on the shelf still quite pristine.
Funny thing is that this is only a comment on a kiddies’ book – yet it has engendered so much nastiness from several people all of whom appear to be alteregos of Michael. He has made it his business to take people not me alone to task for not enjoying this book even to the extent of making personal remarks. He himself enjoys it so much he’s made a society IRL not virtually to promote its aims as thought it were a kind of bible. Luckily the other reviewers are more rational and measured in their response and don’t feel the need to make rude personal remarks.

A tale for our times. Report abuse. This is a nicely pitched book with the aim of getting our little ones to have a responsible attitude toward trees. They so often seem to get trashed as soon as they are planted, in current townscapes. Children nowadays rarely seem to be taught at school the important part that trees play in cleaning and replenishing the air that we all breathe – a fact that makes each and every one of them worthy of our guardianship.
It was written in fairly straight-forward language and was easy for my 6-year old grand-daughter to digest. We both enjoyed it! Easily his best work. I have never really gotten along with Dr Seuss books, I want to like them but many don’t click with me. However, read the synopsis for this and thought it sounded like a good message, was a good price and have a son who loves books.
One of the best children’s books I have had the pleasure of reading and building on with my kid. I have always loved this story, so much so that when I was in business college I used this book for a presentation on the environmental impacts of business.
This is a really good book for introducing children to what happens when we abuse our environment. Perfect book for today’s society. It discusses and clearly shows how the destruction of one thing can impact the entire eco system around it.
